Gemnote’s standard production timeline is typically 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the product, customization method, proof approval, vendor capacity, quantity, and shipping destination.
Production timelines are estimates and may vary depending on your project details.
Standard decorated order process
For standard decorated orders, the timeline usually includes virtual proofs, production, and shipping.
Virtual proofs: Once your design or artwork is submitted, our team will create virtual proofs for your review. This step helps confirm that the product, placement, and decoration details align with your expectations before production begins. If revisions are needed, the timeline may shift depending on how quickly updates are reviewed and approved.
Full production: After you approve the virtual proof, the order moves into full production. This may include printing, embroidery, engraving, stitching, or another approved decoration method based on your project.
Production timelines may vary depending on the product, quantity, vendor capacity, customization method, and any special requirements.
Delivery: Once production is complete, the order is shipped to the designated location. Delivery timing may vary based on the shipping method, carrier service, destination, customs clearance for international shipments, and other factors outside Gemnote’s control.
Longer lead time projects
Some projects may require additional production time.
Non-standard customization: Customizations such as specialty tags, patches, custom packaging, special finishes, or more complex decoration methods may require additional lead time.
These projects may take 4 to 6 weeks or longer after final proof approval, depending on the item and vendor requirements.
Fully custom items: Fully custom products, such as custom cut-and-sew items or products made from scratch, typically take 3 to 4 months. These projects may involve additional development, sampling, production, and international freight timelines.
The fully custom process may include:
- Design and engineering: Our team and vendors review the product specifications, tech pack, design requirements, and materials needed for the custom item. A blank sample may be created to help confirm the product structure, sizing, materials, and overall specifications before decoration is added.
- Sampling: After the initial product details are reviewed, a printed or decorated sample may be created using the approved artwork or customization details. This allows the team to review the final look before moving into full production.
- Full production: Once the sample is approved, the order moves into full production. This includes producing the final quantity based on the approved sample, specifications, and artwork.
- Shipping: After production is complete, the finished products are shipped to the designated location. Fully custom items may involve international shipping or ocean freight, which can have longer transit times depending on the origin, destination, carrier availability, customs clearance, and shipping method. Fully custom items may also require higher minimum order quantities, often 1,000+ units, depending on the product and supplier.
Can production be rushed?
Rush production may be available for select projects, but it is not guaranteed. Rush requests are reviewed case by case based on product availability, vendor capacity, production requirements, proof approval, and the requested in-hand date.
Gemnote’s rush production fee starts at $250, and additional supplier rush, expedited shipping, or special handling fees may apply.
If you have a firm in-hand date, please share it as early as possible so our team can review your timeline.
