Who pays customs duties, taxes, and import fees?

International shipments may be subject to additional charges upon arrival in the destination country.

These charges may include:

• Customs duties
• Import taxes
• VAT or GST
• Brokerage fees
• Customs clearance fees
• Carrier collection fees
• Storage or holding fees

Gemnote does not control these charges and cannot guarantee the amount, timing, or outcome of customs assessments.

For international shipments, the recipient or client is responsible for paying all duties, taxes, import fees, and customs charges required by the destination country.

If customs or the carrier requests payment, the recipient or client should complete the request as soon as possible to help avoid:

• Delivery delays
• Return to sender
• Abandonment
• Disposal
